Every year, the school CEIP Manel Garcia Grau publishes its magazine called "Escola en Moviment". It's made by students and teachers and it's like a kind of summary of the things that we've made during this course.
Take a look at the magazine an discover what each group has made and learnt this course.
It's worth it! So, enjoy it!
We are about to finish this course but we're still very interested in making motivating activities for our students.
Second grade students were studying the Solar System with their teacher, Vanesa Marín, and both of us thought that it was a great idea creating a CLIL project about it. She was going to prepare some presentations in groups explaining some characteristics about the planets, so I decided to practice with them some information about the planets in English.
Finally, using the same groups, we made our own presentations in English about the Solar System.
We recorded them using TouchCast. It's a fantastic app in which you can use different backgrounds. In this case, I used a picture of each planet. It was really motivating for the students, and the result is amazing!!!
Hi everyone!
Second grade students explored at moMa museum New York the self-portrait of Frida Kahlo. Then, I asked them to bring a picture of them or a mirror to look at it and try to draw a self-portrait. The result is amazing!!!
Third grade students have been studying about the animals. We started reading the fantastic story "The snail and the whale" and then we decided to explore and learn more about animals. We divided the animals in 3 groups: air, sea and land animals. Each student chose one animal and prepared some information about it: something that it has and hasn't got, and something that it can and can't do. There are some grammar mistakes in the presentations but they get very nervious when they are recorded. Despite of this, they enjoyed the activity a lot and they want me to prepare more! Sure I will! Enjoy it!
First grade students have learned a nursery rhyme called "There was an old lady who swallowed a fly". We read the story and watched some videos with the story. We also made a craft about this crazy song and finally we learned and sang it. Here is the result!
Four-year-old students have learned about the farm animals and they sang the "Old Mcdonald" song in a very funny way, as if they were inside the farm with all the animals in the song.
